Remember #NXNY? We drank. We laughed. We talked. We bitched. We ate. It seems like a lifetime ago...
Well, it was.
A whole year ago, #SXSWi was going on in Austin, and a rogue group of 'too cool for school' types met in New York City to commiserate about not having been sent to the Lone Star State to partay. We weren't bitter, no. And we're not bitter now. And, really, who goes to South By anymore? I mean, it's basically a hipster version of Burning Man without the desert. Add in the whole 'TWITTER, GET ON IT!' mantra and really, is this Texas or Brooklyn? Feh. (I already live in Brooklyn, thank you very much. I don't need to get on a plane to go party with other Brooklynites.)
This year, join us to rekindle our non-bitter flame, and let's celebrate not being a tech-geek hipster in Texas together in New York.
As we mentioned, this is the last #NXNY event as Iris Blasi (holla!) is going to be merging this event with #DBW for a super duper fabu publishing meetup events calendar. Stay tuned for moar!
In the meantime, this Tuesday 3/15, come to Tom & Jerry's at 7pm. Let's party like it's 2011 and we all work in publishing and we have not been able to convince our respective firms to ship us off to a hipster music festival in Texas.
